Mission
It is the mission of IAS to promote academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment, prepare life-long learners who will offer their God-given talents and passions to the world, and foster a community that seeks to address the needs of others through a life of Christian service.
Vision
The vision of IAS is to be an authentic Christian community, unified by our common faith in Jesus Christ. Our English environment, small class sizes, and college preparatory program will adequately prepare students for success at the university level. Together we strive to create a positive school atmosphere that has student achievement as its focus. Our desire is to see students impact their communities as purposeful and responsible citizens and leaders.
Philosophy
From the beginning, IAS has provided educational opportunities to students who wish to experience a North American system of education, for many in hopes of eventually entering higher education in either the United States or Canada. The school strives to enable students to move easily between schools with U.S. based curriculum.
IAS is proud of its multi-national constituency. It encourages students to be loyal citizens, to become competent in both English and Spanish languages, to appreciate North American and Guatemalan (both Hispanic and Mayan) cultures, and to build lasting bridges of understanding between nations and peoples.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired Word of God, and therefore infallible and authoritative.
We believe in one personal and eternal God, who manifests Himself in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God: in His virgin birth, sinless life, death, resurrection, ascension, and His glorious return.
We believe that all mankind is lost and needs the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, leading to repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus.
We believe in the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit, who indwells all Christians and desires to fill them and make completely usable the gifts which He alone gives, enabling them to live victoriously in this world.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of believers to eternal life and unbelievers to eternal death.
We believe in the spiritual oneness of those who are in Christ Jesus, accepting Him as Savior and serving Him as Lord.
Core Values
An excellent education enables students to grow academically, socially, spiritually and physically in an English immersion environment that prepares each student for success at the university level.
Christ-centeredness permeates all aspects of the educational program as faith and learning are integrated through an unswerving commitment to Biblical principles.
A dedication to civic responsibility based on the belief that everyone possesses inherent worth and value and has the potential to make a positive impact on the world.
A commitment to integrity in our accounting, administration, communication and instructional practices.
An intentional program that fosters authentic community among staff, teachers and students and extends beyond as students are encouraged and given opportunities to serve others in the surrounding community.
