From its inception, Inter-American School has extended educational opportunities to students who plan to enter North American institutions of higher education or want to take advantage of the opportunities of a North American system of education. The school also strives to enable students to move easily to and from other schools with U.S. based curriculum.
IAS is proud of its multi-national constituency. It encourages students to be loyal citizens, to become competent in the English and Spanish languages, to understand and appreciate North American and Guatemalan (both Hispanic and Mayan) cultures, and to build lasting bridges of understanding and cooperation between nations and peoples. In this light the school strives to equip students to function well in both Guatemalan and North American societies.
Inter-American School admits students, regardless of race or ethnic origin, according to limitations of space and ability to meet their educational needs, as long as they respect the Christian stance of the school.
